The Challenge
Spring rolls made with “Rice paper” sheets are a main product, but it takes a lot of labor to do. The Cabinplant challenge was to add rice paper sheets automatically, add the filling and shape the spring roll afterwards.
The solution
Due to the very fragile rice paper, which is supplied to the line in stacks of 500 pcs. Cabinplant came up with a solution where we use a robot with a special picking tool, which can take 6 sheets/pick and add it on our standard spring roll belt having it´s normal features. A small feature was added in front of the belt, a steam tunnel to soften the sheets, otherwise it cannot be folded.
The result
A line doing 90 rolls/min. of springrolls made of rice paper sheets. The customer has three lines today. Last two units installed August 2021.
