Vision system

The Cabinplant vision system is designed for the surveillance of product infeed to Baader- or VMK - filletting machines. The system can be used for species, such as herring and mackerel.

The system operates by taking a picture of each fish to determine if it is the right species, the right size, if it is whole or half fish, if it is placed correctly on the conveyor prior to cutting, etc. Unwanted fish is rejected to waste or recirculated in the system if it was rejected due to e.g. incorrect positioning on the conveyor.

The vision system controls the entire filleting machine, which means that it checks input and output - what goes in, comes out. If not, the line will stop! It will also try to optimize the amount of fish on the pocket conveyor belonging to the filleting machine. If e.g. fish is blocking the feeder to the filleting machine, the outlet gates of the feeder will be opened.

The vision system can be mounted on existing filleting machines with only very few changes to the existing line set-up. The vision system can be used for filleting machines installed in boats as well.

Capacity approx. 320 conveyor pockets/min.

The vision system is equipped with:

  • PC-controlled camera section with display showing e.g. speed, reject cause, amount of recycled fish, wrong species, etc.
  • Pneumatic control system for feeder to filleting machine
  • Servo-driven reject system with distribution chute for waste or recycling of fish
  • Elevator for returning recycled fish to bulk feeder belonging to filleting machine

Option: In addition, the vision system can be provided with a dry feeding conveyor to increase feeding efficiency to filleting machine.
