The Cabinplant lye peeler is designed to remove the skin from mackerel before cooking and canning.
The fish is conveyed continuously through a heated lye bath for a few minutes, until the skin is dissolved. The fish is then transferred to a bath of acid to neutralize the pH level. Between the two sections the fish is rinsed with fresh water to wash off skin residues.
The capacity is approx. 2500 kg/h, and the system can be designed to meet customer's specific needs.
